Hello Simon……I saw a recent clip of you playing the guitar in the studio for RCM and was wondering how long have you played guitar? Over the years, we have seen you pick up the guitar and play some chords such as in the live video for Save A Prayer. Have you always wanted to play the guitar growing up? Which guitar players do you consider influences?

Già,pure a me...ha un sense of humour eccezionale(pensare che altrove l'hanno definito "cafone" perchè non ha risposto alla domanda e s'è messo a fare il professore!)
Cmq, anzi COMUNQUE,è vero che questa moda delle abbreviazioni stà diventando un pò antipatica: a me RCM per esempio fa pensare tipo alla sigla di una Radio o di un organo amministrativo (tipo RTL o CSM)!!!

Non tutti sono ironici e non tutti capisco il sense of humor anglosassone!
A me ha fatto sorridere, soprattutto la parte finale!

Ragazzi..qualcosa l'ho capita...ma non tutto..quindi se qualcuno sarebbe gentile da fare una piccola traduzione gliene sarei grata!!!

A Simon viene chiesto (in poche parole) se il fatto di suonare la chitarra fosse stato un suo "sogno" siccome sia nel video di Save a Prayer e nel video di Red Carpet Massacre è stato visto "strimpellare" la chitarra...
Il nostro buontempone Simon ha detto che siccome colui che ha fatto la domanda non ha scritto per intero il nome dell'album lui non pensa nemmeno per un minuto a rispondere alla sua domanda!!!

i grew up in a house where there were musical instruments; piano, guitar, violin. naturally, as a kid i would bang away on the naked piano wires or strum the guitar in its case with just the lid open. far from these actions inspiring the parental disapproval which i anticipated, i was actively encouraged.

i must have been about 13 years old when the grammar school i attended contracted a guitar teacher; i started playing proper.

Ha messo Andy!!

Beh,almeno adesso è stato pure molto esauriente e onesto,e,forse per fare ammenda del piccolo "scivolone" di "cafonaggine" s'è ripreso scrivendo lui stavolta RCM!!!Resta comunque un grande umorista,io adoro il suo modo di rispondere che in fondo in fondo non è altro che un modo di mettere in risalto il più delle volte le assurdità che gli vengono chieste(mi riferisco pure alle risposte nelle interviste...)

Ovvio che citare il nome di Andy nella lista dei chitarristi che lo hanno "influenzato" è doveroso da parte sua,visto che comunque la collaborazione sui pezzi live è notoria a tutti noi...

vi siete dimenticati di mettere la cosa più importante, la nota dell'editore:
"and this is why I love him!"
con quest'uomo non ci si annoia mai, la sua imprevedibilità, i suoi scivoloni e la sua umiltà "ironica" nel riprendersi, alla fine diventano adorabili...ora basta, sennò vado dritta dritta verso: "che begli occhioni blu che hai ohhh dolce Simon" e così tocco il fondo per questa giornata !!!
cmq scherzi a parte, complimentoni a Mike V che ha dimostrato grande classe e anche a Simon che s'è ripreso da una figuraccia planetaria con grande umorismo "inglese" e ha dato una bella risposta rendendo il giusto tributo a Andy (mi sembra quasi che faccia un pò il ruffiano con "ricordo di AT" nelle interviste: sarà mica un accordo stilato dal notaio quando hanno sciolto la società???)!
